SparkNano will be in the Jaarbeurs Utrecht (Jaarbeursplein) at the NXTGEN Hightech workshop for Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) in next-generation batteries.
The Netherlands boasts a strong presence of manufacturers specializing in gas phase deposition technologies for thin film battery components. NXTGEN Hightech, BatteryNL and High Tech NL are organizing a workshop where they will focus on the ALD technology for interface engineering in Li-ion batteries and explore, together, the opportunities and strategies for high-throughput ALD to be validated and included in (near-)future NL pilot lines.

Date: 10 June 2025
Time: 09:30 – 17:00 CET
Location: Jaarbeursplein Utrecht, the Netherlands
The workshop will cover the following topics:
- Targets and KPIs: Discuss the added costs of an ALD process in future battery manufacturing versus the added value for battery performance.
- Technological and Supply Chain Maturity: Build stronger links between supply chain partners and find the right partnerships for expansion and scaling.
- Scalability and Cost-related Issues: Address scalability and cost-related issues in high-throughput (Spatial) ALD applications. Define the ‘wins’ and create a business case on battery/plant level instead of comparing anode costs.
- Strategic Opportunities: Identify strategic opportunities for (Spatial) ALD in battery manufacturing.
This workshop is by invitation only. If you did not receive an invitation but wish to attend, please email Emanuela Zanetti , she will review your request.
